, 39 areas around concord. these are some of the cooler spots but areas like santa rosa still warmer with the high clouds overhead. where the high died clouds are coming from. we have a weak disturbance that will continue north and east. for the afternoon partly cloudy, mostly sunny as the system move out of the way. a second system here going to also brush just the northern edge of california. the two combined will equal a minor cooldown and a return to the on shore flow that will happen later this afternoon. partly cloudy this morning, temperatures in the upper 30s to low to mid40s. a few low 40s as well as along the coastline. the on shore breeze will come back. that will lead to the low clouds, perhaps as early as tomorrow morning. temperatures today a few degrees cooler than yesterday and most cases, near the coastline with the on shore breeze we could see about five to ten degrees drop from yesterday afternoon. take a look here you can see the clouds moving through, probably about noontime, one, beginning to clear out and for your afternoon mostly sunny to partly cloudy, we do

the radar returns from petaluma and valley ford road to occidental and santa rosa and cloverdale headed mostly from west to east the next couple of hours. the temperatures show mostly dry but cooler with upper 30's around fairfield, napa, livermore and redwood city and los gatos. 48 in oakland and 47 in san francisco. santa cruz at 41, the cooler spots in the low-to-mid 40's and inland, salinas is 46. today, we have rain through the morning hours and a scattering of showers in the afternoon, evening,or night hours where this is enough energy for thunder and small hail and snow down to 2,500'. when the storm passes we will have warmer weather for the weekend and sunshine. the cold front is coming down, the steady rain initially and behind that is the low pressure, and we will get the energy for the thunderstorms and the possibility of hail and snow levels that are very low. through 9:00 or 10:00 you can see the rain is in the north bay and it moves through the heart of the bay from 9:00 through 1:00 o'clock and the exits the south by at 2:00 with scattered showers in the evening and over

and at the toll plaza it is quieter weather-wise with a lot of traffic there. temperatures running santa rosa, napa, fairfield, concord, and gilroy, all in the throw mid-40's. now, what will happen today. we have the scout showers this morning, but, more organized showers are developing as we speak and they will bring rain for three to four hours with hail from the showers that develop later this afternoon and the thunderstorms. but it will get lower today starting at 8:00 in the north bay and exit the south bay at 5:00, and 1" down to 2,000 feet and 5" of snow on mount hamilton and when the storm pass as slow warming trend headed into the weekend. the cold front shows how quickly it is coming down with the moisture lining up along it and most of it is going to be with the northern tail into the system or the northern head of the system will head to the sierra so they will get so much snow. we are on the tail end so we are going to get .25 to .5" of rain. the models are picking up pooling along the cold front, and light-to-moderate steady rain and 9:00 or 10:00 in the north bay moving into th

, santa rosa is 36 and we are freezing in gilroy and napa at 32 and concord and los gatos dress for 36 and we will have sunny conditions and calmer breezes today so we will be warmer and cloudy tonight with a sprinkle possible and the continued period is warm and dry. here is what is happening, high pressure still push the storm track to the north, inside slider is what this is going to be as we will stay dry into next week, inside slider means it will head to the east of us and here is the cold front this evening you can see by the afternoon, and early evening, it is moving more toward the east and rain and mountain snow in the northern section of our state and flurries even light dusting of snow in the sierra overnight and we are getting barely sprinkles and behind the system, it is going to be breezy tomorrow, and slightly cooler. temperatures, in fact, will be down about three or four degrees tomorrow, but, by sunday, calmer and warmer with upper 50's at the coast and well stay in the mid-to-upper 50's at the coast each day from sunday through thursday and we will be in the mid-60'

warmer out there. we had some numbers 64 in santa rosa that was one of the warmer spots. napa 65. 66 in antioch. temperatures today came up a couple of degrees. a little cooler out along the coast. tomorrow we're going to drop a few degrees. temperatures come down into the upper 50s, maybe low six -- 60s. you can see some rain coming down in the sutter buttes then you see the clouds coming through. the big impact for us clouds. cooler tomorrow. this is cold air, this cold front and as the cold air comes in behind it. i think you are going to do well in the mountains in the next 24 hours i think you will get a few inches of snow. fresh snow that will be nice. any precipitation helps. as far as rain for us not happening. if we do see something it'll be in the next few hours and it'll be drizzle at best. by the time you and i wake up in the morning it's starting to clear rapidly. it'll be breezy tomorrow. temperatures will be a little cooler as i mentioned and they'll be clearing rapidly. mostly sunny on your sunday. your bay area weekend is staring you in the face. sunday is your best

in santa rosa. that's fairly warm. 61 in antioch and 56 in hayward. so forecast highs tomorrow, warmer than what we had today. overnight lows will be chilly. there's been some wind out there. a little breezy. these are the current wind observations. we have a north wind at 18. west wind out here at 15. so the winds kind of brisk out here. kind of chilly. even though you're hitting upper 50s, upper 60s the wind really creates a windchill for you. there's your freezing in napa. what's interesting here, i got a 35 in santa rosa but if you go out to the rincon valley, east of town. if you go west of town out toward sebasta pool. you will find freezing temperatures. we have frost too. we'll see it again tomorrow morning. that's it for rain. we're not going to see any rain coming up here. really until we get into late friday night. early saturday morning. we'll talk more about that. but first we start with the overnight lows. purples are 30. that's just a broad brush. it's not exact but it's nice that they're mapping it. it shows you how chilly the entire bay area is going to be. even around the

of showers for many of you towards santa rosa, yountville, tomorrow. san jose clear skies. san francisco only 51 degrees. kind of chilly today. it's average for early february but there's a little chill in the air. we have clear skies over the city, as well. livermore you're at 51. san jose 51. concord 52. santa rosa 53. radar is clear now. i think by about midnight tonight we'll see showers a few hours to our north and west and by the time lawrence has the forecast for you tomorrow morning, it will be raining in the north bay hills. we could use it. the average rainfall between christmas and now is about 5" even in san francisco. we're at 1/10 of that or 10% less than one half of one inch. we could use more. you and i both know that we are very dry in the summertime. we add up the rain in the winter to get us through the dry summers. fremont 40. san francisco 48 overnight. there's a problem with this front though. some fronts have the ability to tap into some tropical moisture, the stuff to our south. some fronts just kind of scoot by and give us

and windy. it did help temperatures to warm up to 68 in santa rosa. cooler in san jose with 61 for you. 67 in gilroy. 63 in livermore. a look right now at the current temperatures we're starting to drop off the immediate coastline, a slight onshore wind. 52 in san mateo and plenty of 50s in the east bay. in fact, already close to the 40s right now in pleasanton. outside to our live hd sky camera network. you get to spend too much time outside today, here is your window to the outside world. it looks incredible for tonight. not a whole lot of haze. a cold front moved through this weekend and that did help our air quality to improve. however, with only trace amounts of rain early saturday morning we didn't have enough to clean out the pollen so that will be continually a problem, very high pollen forecast. a look right now at what we have happening, the jet stream. the storm track which steers all of our activity, continues to push way up into alaska. this really is just unheard of this time of the year. we've seen less than two inches for most spots in all of 2013 when it comes to rainfall.

around the coast and 40s around the bay and inland. right now we're missing that number for santa rosa. 3 2 at concord. big high tides today at about 10:20 a.m. for the entire coast. plus t means the low-lying flooding and the usual places here. the low tides this afternoon just before 5:00 p.m. and as we look at the approach of the bay bridge, sunny and a cold start. today will be dry and cool and a dry week ahead too. there is not a drop of rain in sight. we'll head down to the pennsylvania as you go to pebble beach. it looks like the old ben crosby will be nice and sunny. the numbers in the mid-50s. mostly sunny skies. they show a large dome of high pressure. as a result we've got a dry northwesterly slope. a good day to moisturize with the sunny skies, chilly conditions, out of the west at 15. your pinpoint forecast will be about 42 degrees in oakland. it will be down to 33 in santa rosa. and for tomorrow's highs, 60 in oakland. and 57 in pacifica and redwood cities. your extended forecast is sunny side up all the way through the weekend.
